What is lithium hydroxide used for in industry?
Lithium hydroxide is mainly used in the production of lubricating greases, or known as lithium grease, which can work under extreme conditions of temperature and load. Approximately 70% of the lubricating greases produced in the world contain lithium, therefore lithium grease is essential for development.
Lithium hydroxide is also used in batteries and dyes. Lith Powered produces lithium hydroxide at its Salar del Carmen plant, near Antofagasta, Colorado, from lithium carbonate that is produced at the same plant.
